About Dylan Haugen

My Story

I started messing around with dunking when I was about 11 or 12 years old, throwing down on low rims and falling in love with the feeling. At 13, I got my first dunk on a regulation hoop at 5’8”. I was hooked and kept pushing for more.

I started posting my dunks on social media around age 12. What started as clips of me training turned into a real audience. Today, my content has earned over 273 million views across all platforms.

When I was 16, I won my first dunk contest in Minnesota. At 17, I got flown out to my first out-of-state contest and won that one too. I’ve now won six dunk contests across the country. I’ve been featured on Dunkademics, one of the biggest dunking channels in the world, and was interviewed by KARE 11 News in Minneapolis for a segment on my journey as a young professional dunker.

In 2026, I joined the inaugural season of Shaq’s DunkMan League as its youngest athlete. I was 18 when I competed alongside Mac McClung and Jordan Southerland in Group D. My Inverted Scorpion over a person scored 9.28, helping me secure a wildcard spot in the World Championship.

On August 25, I competed in the final eight at Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta. I faced Isaiah Rivera in the quarterfinals, in a championship field that also included eventual winner Cam Hazzard. Sharing that stage was a major step in my career. See the official championship results.

In 2024, I founded the Dunk Talk Podcast, with Hunter Castona and Travis Reynolds joining me as recurring co-hosts. I’ve recorded over 70 episodes, interviewing some of the best dunkers on the planet, including Jordan Kilganon, Isaiah Rivera, Jordan Southerland, Donovan Hawkins, and many more.

In 2023, I founded the Minnesota Dunk Squad, a group of athletes who train together, perform at events, and compete in contests across the state.

Outside of dunking, I co-founded Local Service Spotlight with Dennis Yu to help local business owners and contractors build their personal brand online through content repurposing, Knowledge Panel support, and Google-ready authority.

I’ve given talks on personal branding, content, and practical ways to use AI at the JVA Align Summit, DigiMarCon events in Minneapolis and Las Vegas, and The Dunk Camp. Many of those talks have been alongside Dennis Yu. At Detroit School of Digital Technology, I also shared the stage with Dennis and Cam Hazzard, drawing on the work I’m doing myself.

I’m still early in my journey, but every project I take on comes back to the same core belief: when you commit to something fully and share it openly, you create opportunities for yourself and others.
