If you’re trying to build a real brand, you can’t skip long-form content.
Webinars, trainings, and conference sessions are where you actually teach and show what you know.
The challenge is that raw recordings don’t always hold attention online. Live presentations are full of crowd noise, filler phrases, and moments that make sense in the room—but drag when someone watches later.
Over the past few months, I’ve been using a simple workflow that makes it fast to turn those recordings into clean, watchable videos: Descript + ChatGPT.
Step 1: Record Once
Don’t overthink the setup.
In this example, I used a talk Dennis Yu gave at DigiMarCon Silicon Valley about Dollar-a-Day YouTube ads. It was recorded live as a Zoom clip while he presented. The video wasn’t perfect—there were pauses, crowd reactions, and random side comments—but it had great content.
That’s all you need. Just record once while you’re already teaching or presenting.
Step 2: Edit by Transcript in Descript
Descript turns your video into an editable transcript.
You can scroll through the text, highlight what doesn’t belong, and delete it. It’s like editing an article—but it cuts the video at the same time.
That alone saves hours compared to traditional video editing.
Step 3: Use ChatGPT to Spot Distractions
Instead of manually rewatching everything, I copy the transcript from Descript and paste it into ChatGPT.
I ask it to find off-topic sections, filler moments, or anything that doesn’t support the main message.
Once I get the list back, I search for each section in Descript and cut it out. It’s fast, and I keep full control of what stays.
Step 4: Clean and Repurpose
Descript also has built-in tools for quick cleanup—like removing “um,” “you know,” and background noise.
After that, the video is ready to post as a solid training or lesson.
And since the transcript is right there, it’s easy to pull out short clips for social media.
One presentation becomes a full-length video and multiple short pieces—all from one recording.
Why It Works
This process doesn’t rely on fancy editing or big budgets. It’s about efficiency and clarity—turning authentic teaching moments into professional content quickly.
If you’re creating educational videos, client trainings, or podcasts, this method helps you stay consistent without burning hours on technical editing.
