This week’s training was a mix of low-rim work, strength sessions, and small progress wins in the weight room. My Wednesday session was outside — started on 7.5 feet, worked on weaknesses, and went through the 2024 NBA Dunk Contest dunks for fun before moving up to 9 feet for some routine dunks and off-dribble stuff.
The 720 dunk has been something I’ve struggled with for a while, but after talking to Jeffry Fuhrmann and a few others, I figured out a cue that finally made it click — going straight up instead of spinning out. That change made a big difference.
On the lifting side, Monday’s leg day went well. I did my old power clean max of 185lbs for two reps, which is a huge step forward. I’ve been fixing my squat form lately, keeping the weight lower and focusing on half squats to avoid back hinging and knee pain. Still not perfect, but progress is there.
Thursday was another leg day — hang cleans and front squats up to 175 for three reps. I subbed RDLs for hamstring curls since I’m training at home and finished with calf raises.
Overall, a solid training week. Hitting new numbers, cleaning up form, and building momentum heading into Saturday’s 10-foot dunk session.
